Brandpie offers work experience to bright, young minds who are interested in learning more about what it’s like to work for a purpose-driven business.

We were most recently joined by Emilia Smith, who had just completed GCSE’s at Surbiton High School and was interested in seeing what it was like to work at Brandpie. Here is what her work experience consisted of:

“Over this past week, I have been doing work experience at Brandpie in Soho. It is safe to say that my week has been extremely enjoyable and interesting, and I have learnt so many lessons and life skills that I will continue to use in my future careers. Brandpie’s energetic and bubbly atmosphere made me feel comfortable and motivated from my first day, and the relaxed structure of work kept me motivated when completing tasks.

I was given small tasks to complete by people from different departments, which gave me a real taster of what it would be like to work here, while introducing me to the different lines of work in the field of brand design and purpose activation.

One of these tasks included working with the design team to brainstorm ideas for the visual identity of their current project. This gave me an accurate and professional insight into what it takes to create a recognizable style of photography, writing, image composition, and colours for a brand, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I was even invited to sit in on a client workshop, which immediately immersed me into Brandpie’s current project, and I learnt about the different processes and steps taken when designing and rebranding companies.

Throughout the meeting, I experienced the different departments collaborating and feeding off of each other’s ideas to come up with innovative and well thought out proposals. It was so inspiring to see everyone develop each other’s ideas so seamlessly, which really highlighted the unified connection between everyone and showed the true vibrancy of life at Brandpie.

The varied and adaptable layout of the Brandpie Clubhouse was also key in maintaining the fluid and relaxed atmosphere, as it encouraged me to move around and renew my work setup throughout the day.

Brandpie’s seminal attribute of being purpose-led was clearly evident as I worked in the Clubhouse. Each step was taken in the direction of a new motive and was in response to a specific cause – in other words, every action had a reason. This way of working showed me the importance of knowing the motivation behind actions, which highlighted the importance of being relevant when working in response to a stimulus.

Overall, my week of work experience at Brandpie has left me with new and exciting knowledge, and has introduced me to the realm of creativity and artistic freedom when working with them.”
